The 15th Century College adjacent to York Minster, hosts the popular St Nicholas Fayre (Saturday) with over 50 stalls of arts, crafts, gifts and live artists. On Sunday we visit Chatsworth House - ‘Palace of The Peaks’ in all its festive splendour! The house and gardens which are transformed with Christmas lights and decorations, resound to the sounds of carol singers and brass bands. At the Holiday Inn Hotel near Leeds (HB).

A chance to explore the best of Holland visiting the ‘Bulbfields’ and the world famous Keukenhof Gardens - ‘the most beautiful garden in the world’, where the floral displays provide a kaleidoscope of colour and spectacle. A half-day excursion to Volendam is included to visit a cheese farm making the famous Edam and a traditional Dutch clog factory. The grounds of the Georgian Mansion are the setting for the innovative and imaginative show gardens and floral marquees at this major RHS event. The 4* Daresbury Park Hotel (HB) provides a comfortable refuge after a day touring the displays. The hotel has excellent leisure facilities including an indoor swimming pool and spa. On Monday we visit Chester where visitors have been welcomed since Roman times.
