Travel by Eurostar from London, St Pancras to Lille then continue via TGV to Avignon whilst enjoying the ever changing scenery as the train speeds through the French countryside. Provence is an area of outstanding natural beauty where russet roofed hilltop villages are dotted amongst olive and cypress groves. The region provided great inspiration for Van Gogh and Cezanne. We visit the Roman remains at Arles, Aix en Provence and tour the Camargue with its famous white horses, black bulls and 300 species of birds. Our base – Avignon is an elegant and sophisticated fortified riverside city with many cafes, terraced restaurants, art galleries and magnificent buildings. Rouen and the Seine valley will once again buzz with one of the most important movements in the history of art. Turner, Monet, Gauguin, Pissarro and Sisley were impressionist geniuses fascinated by the region.
